We start to question everything, every action, every thought, every emotion, every decision, and all the things that we do on a daily basis. Is this what I want to do for the rest of my life? Is this how I want to spend my whole life? Are these the people I want to be connected to forever? We're skeptical about every little thing.  This either happens when life starts to feel like a loop we're stuck in, or when our lifestyle changes from how it was earlier, when there's a transition period, or maybe if you're distracted.  Insecurity refers to anxiety, uncertainty, or a lack of confidence or assurance in oneself or a situation. In today's world, we have become extremely dependent on external validation and assurance. We often give the key to our emotions to other people. This not only gives us self-doubt but also makes us feel vulnerable about ourselves. External validation basically means depending on superficial means to have a sense of security. We often let other people in our life have the authority to make us feel bad about ourselves which not only affects us mentally but also emotionally.  It's normal to feel good about yourself when someone compliments you, but that doesn't really mean that you should be depending on anyone else in order to feel better about yourself. Recently there has been a rape case in Kolkata, India. A trainee doctor who completed her 36-hour shift was raped brutally and then murdered. Initially, it was said to be a suicide case but later on, it was claimed that it was a case of gang rape where the victim was sexually assaulted many times, and then murdered.
